University of Westminster – PhD Scholarships

All proposals for admission must be received by the Research Team in the Academic Registrar’s Department by Friday 14 March 2008.
The deadline for all PhD scholarship applications is 31 May 2008, unless otherwise stated.

Biosciences/Biotechnology research scholarship

  • Amount: Full tuition fee waiver, available over three years subject to satisfactory academic progress.   
  • Eligibility: You must be from a developing country and plan to study a postgraduate research programme (MPhil or PhD) in biosciences or biotechnology at Cavendish.
  • Criteria: Academic excellence, development potential and financial need. 
     

Cavendish research scholarships

  • Amount: Full tuition fee waivers, available over three years subject to satisfactory academic progress.  
  • Eligibility: You must be from a developing country and plan to study a postgraduate research programme (MPhil or PhD) at Cavendish.
  • Criteria: Academic excellence, development potential and financial need. 
     

Cavendish research scholarship (India)

  • Amount: Full tuition fee waiver, available over three years subject to satisfactory academic progress.
  • Eligibility: You must be from India and plan to study a postgraduate research programme (MPhil or PhD) at the Cavendish site.
  • Criteria: Academic excellence, development potential and financial need. 
     

Quintin Hogg PhD scholarships

These generous awards are funded by the Quintin Hogg Trust and are aimed at fully funding you if you are taking a PhD and are from the UK or from a developing country. You must wish to pursue research at the University, live close by and, if necessary, improve your English prior to your studies.

  • Amount: Full tuition fee waivers, accommodation, living expenses and flights to and from London (where applicable).
  • Eligibility: You must be planning to pursue your PhD at the University. Preference will be given to you if you are pursuing a PhD in areas not covered by other scholarships.
  • Criteria: Academic excellence, development potential and financial need.

  4. I belong to India and presently pursuing Master Degree (Final year) from Gent University Belgium. I am working on the aspects of Polyhydroxyalkapolyhydroxyalkanoats (PHA’s) or polyhydroxybutyrate (PHB) in relation to fish health. Though i am also trying to expand it to terrestrial animals but the time frame of my Master Research is too small to carry out such experiment.
    I am 25 year old and have published four International Paper with good imfact factor. I already have communicated two Review Paper on Phytic acid and Phytase and have more than ten Popular Articles in renowned magazines of Europe. I am need of financial aid to carry out my Experiment at the Doctorate level. Do my above qualification suits the criteria for Cavendish research scholarship (India). I also have some proposal relating the cloning of PHA accumulating/producing bacteria for producing biodegradable plastics.
    Let me know whether i am eligible to apply for the fore-mentioned Scholarship. Anticipating your response.
